Psychotherapy for Addiction and Recovery
There are so many ways that therapy can help and each individual is unique in what they need. Here are some of the approaches that I may use:
Psychodynamic Therapy: Exploring early relationship and experiences in the past that are interfering with your present relationships and over all sense of well being. Examining your patterns of interacting in a trusting therapeutic relationship can be reparative and help you to find new and healthier ways of relating to others.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Discovering how thought patterns may become distorted due to negative beliefs about yourself and the world. We can work together to challenge these and find more adaptive and realistic ways of thinking about and dealing with difficult feelings and behavior.
Hypnotherapy: I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. Hypnosis can be very helpful with anxiety, stress management and behavior changes.
EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a time efficient and highly effective treatment for trauma stress and anxiety. It has been shown to be very effective in helping addicts and alcoholics to overcome their compulsivity and heal from the underlying causes and conditions that lead to their dependencies.
Do not give up hope. Recovery is possible and therapy can help. You may be very surprised at how your life can change. Please call me at 415 407-5964 to schedule an initial no fee consultation.
